alternative to shaving cream, can you shave with coconut oil, dry skin, shaving with coconut oil, uses for coconut oil
So, it’s probably no secret – I love coconut oil. Ever since this girl introduced me to coconut oil, I’ve been hooked. I started using it for the dry winter months to help keep my skin moisturized. Coconut oil is especially useful for my hands, which are always dry and chapped from the Chicago winds.
It wasn’t until more recently that I tried shaving with coconut oil. Um, hello, soft, smooth legs! Seriously. Best. Decision. Ever.
Coconut oil comes as a solid, so I throw the tub of it in the shower or bath with me and let the warm water soften it. Once the solid starts to become more of a liquid, I rub it onto my legs a little at a time. It doesn’t really bubble or lather, but trust me, it’s working.
Once the coconut oil is on, you can just shave as normal…with a slight modification. You will have to rinse your razor more often. Trust me. It must exfoliate as you shave or something because it will clog your razor if you don’t rinse often.
And you might have to clean your bath tub. Minor detail.
Anyway, after I’m done, my legs feel soft and smooth. And, I don’t know if it is true, but I feel like the shave lasts longer too. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but I’ll take it!
Have you ever shaved with coconut oil?

I saw coconut oil in its solid form in Trader Joe’s on Friday and was going to pick some up. I’ll have to go back for it!
