Industry Insight: Fall Trends at Belk

Last spring, I shared with you a little bit about Belk. We talked about the spring trends they were focused on, and I shared a few inspiring words from Arlene Goldstein, their VP of Trend Merchandising and Fashion Direction.

Well, spring is long gone, and it’s time to fall in love with fall.

Belk has categorized the fall trends into 4 style statements:

My fair ladythink feminine pieces, textures, and touches. think peplum and ruching. think satin and lace.

{Suzi Chin lace bodice sheath dress}

Town and country – think British-inspired style. think prints like plaid. think luxury like leather and fur.

{Frye “Cameron” small leather satchel in burnt red and “Phillip” harness tall boot with zipper in red}

Mod modern – think retro pieces with a modern twist. think colorblocking. think metal accessories, boots, and platforms.

{Muse two tone contrast dot  sleeveless shift dress}

Vividthink bold color. think colorblocking and color crashing. think colorful patterns and jewel tones.

{Jessica Simpson Berlin peplum coat, stripe sweater, and crinkle chiffon skirt}

I don’t know about you, but this is enough to get me excited about shopping for fall! Layers, bold colors, fun patterns, leather, and lace!

Which style statement is your favorite?

  1. I love love love that first photo and I definitely need to hit up Belk’s for that lace dress. Not sure I would rock the gloves but I could go for those platform slingbacks as well!

  2. the town and country looks are totally my favorite!
